Dawn is sometimes assistant to Professor Rowan, and other times Barry's rival and childhood friend. Barry feels close to her as he always views Dawn as his friend regardless of the role she ends up fulfilling for the duration of their journey.
Like himself, he's not sure what her name is at times. Although usually he doesn't have trouble knowing what it is. ...in the realms within the games, anyway.
Like with Dawn, Lucas is either Barry's rival and friend, or Professor Rowan's loyal assistant. He equally cares for Lucas having known him as long as he's known Dawn. In fact as far as Barry is concerned both Dawn and Lucas have grew up by his side in Twinleaf Town. No one can convince him otherwise, even if their "first meeting" ends up being at Lake Verity.
Just like Dawn and himself, Barry has no idea what Lucas' real name happens to be. However whenever he sees him he tends to know it immediately. All thanks to game mechanics really. Not that either of them are aware of that.
The Mother of his childhood friend. Although sometimes he forgets whether she's Lucas or Dawn's Mother. It doesn't help that either of them resemble her in a lot of ways.
Johanna is definitely not his Mom, but he still likes her nonetheless. She's always treated him well whenever he was over to visit her child. He can't help but view her as family. Although he's probably too shy to call her Auntie it's another story whether he'd call her as "Auntie" or not.
Unlike Palmer she's more down to earth and not as rushed like either her husband or son. Barry understands he worries his Mom at times due to him not being able to keep still. He tries not to worry her but oops!
GOTTA GO FAST.
He does still keep in touch with her while out and about on his journey. Technology is amazing, isn't it?
Barry both admires and look up to his father, because of that he aims to become a talented and strong trainer just like him. In fact he inherited plenty of traits from him from looks, skills and down to the impatience.
Deep down Barry's quite the Daddy's boy, but being at a sensitive age he doesn't want to show it in front of Dawn or Lucas, gosh. So embarrassing!! Yet he really loves his Dad and thinks he's the coolest. In the whole world!!
Yet his goal is to be a better trainer than Palmer even with the unending resets.
